INTRO: Our Style and Inspo

We first met at meg’s boyfriend’s band gig and we were the girlfriends of two good friends. We knew each other for a while and didn’t really talk because we are both shy and we are the type of people to sus people out and see their vibe before speaking. We met and instantly click!! We are the same person....literally the same. When one of us says something the other will be like I was just about to say that! We can look at each other from across the room and know what the other is thinking. We help each other in so many ways and recently we’ve been helping each other experiment and take risks with fashion and it has led us to start this blog!!

I think in general we have quite similar styles consisting of sporty pieces with chic accessories and staples. However despite this we still wear things very differently due to our body types. With me being slightly more curvy I find a lot of things don’t quite look right when they hang over my boobs or my bum. So even though I love oversized looks I would have to somehow create a waist in order for it to not make me look bigger. I haven't always been into fashion in all honesty. When I was younger I used to be such a tomboy and would wear my brothers old clothes. Mostly old hoodies and tracksuit bottoms which were not flattering on me at all. I feel like I do still have quite a tomboyish style but use makeup and accessories to make things more girly.  I do still shop in the mens section sometimes for certain things like oversized tees, tracksuits and sportswear. Or I just steal my boyfriend's!!(gotta be done)

My style inspo would be Rebecca Jackson, Ellie Joslin (Missjoslin) and Tara Maynard. I’d say my style is most like Rebecca’s as she has an equal love for a sporty looks as me but still incorporates a cute, more “girly” look once in a while. Being blonde and tanned (fake tanned) like Rebecca I find her colour palette (nudes, white, black, grey, and pastel colours) much more relatable. Saying this, she is much slimmer than me which is why I love getting inspiration from Ellie Joslin as she is slightly bigger on the thighs and bum and also has a similar fashion sense to me.

Tara Maynard for me is just the queen of outfits and styling. I would love to be able to dress like her but often feel I wouldn’t be able to pull off the looks she serves as they’re so out there and vibrant. I love to look to her for ideas in terms of details and makingan outfit complete with accessories and jewellery. My fav trends are currently; the oversized tee and cycling shorts vibe with a chunky trainer and gold chain, even adding a blazer over the top I love; puff sleeves/milkmaid style tops and dresses for summer are such a vibe and screams wine tasting in Italy which I LOVE!!!!

I would say my (liv) style is sporty chic. I like clean lines and simple yet timeless tailoring and pieces. I studied fashion at school and took a liking to men’s fashion and I think that shows in my outfits. My style inspiration come from many different places, my mum is a huge style inspiration for me as she grew up in the 80s and 90s era and she has a very similar body shape to me. I still have her old vouge’s which i still look through now.

My other style inspiration comes from Instagram!! I Love Tia Liniker’s style as she keeps everything oversized and simple yet she still has a girlie twist to her looks when she goes out! I also love Rebecca Jackson Hannah Whiting and Alice Olivia (her blazer and handbag collection is to die for). I am very petite on top with quite a long torso top with more of abum so for me it’s all about getting the right proportions for my body type! As the years have gone on I have learnt to love my body and learnt that small chested girls can still wear low cut tops!! In the summer I am a sucker for backless tops and dresses, any thing cowl neck and satin and a cool pallet tone with simple and classic jewellery ans in the winter I love flared trousers/jeans layering, chunky knit and tailored blazers. I try and keep my style as simple as possible and stay away from patterns as I don’t believe I could carry it off.

I LIVE in trainers andbelieve that trainers can go with any outfit, I am deffo more of a chunky trainer gal and am always on the hunt for one of a kind trainers (just wish my bank account could feed the addiction). I am definitely going to try and be more adventurous with my colour pallet and take more risks styling wise. I am excited to see where this blog is going to take megs and I and so happy that we’re embarking on this journey together!!

We both can't wait to show you more of our fav outfits and pieces for so many different occasions. Keep your eyes peeled for our next blog post and edit. We will be posting lost of outfit ideas and styling videos soon on our Instagram. See you soon!!!
